It’s that time of year again, a time for giving thanks, a time to spend with family & friends. Sometimes during our rush to get the “hottest” toy of the year for you children, nieces or nephews, we seem to forget that there are hundreds if not thousands of families that have been devastated by the state of our economy. Maybe it’s affecting your very own family or that of a close friend, either way Dr2 has joined forces with some very special friends over at The Dawghouse to help make it easier for everyone to “Give & Receive” this holiday season by supporting the Clinton Twp Goodfellows’ “No Child Without a Christmas” program! First & foremost, if you or someone you know that lives in the area, and is in need to bring Christmas to their family, then you have until December 3 to apply for assistance by heading over to the Clinton Township Good Fellows website and fill out the “Christmas Assistance Application”, then bring that application to the South Branch Clinton Twp Library located on Gratiot Avenue just south of Metro Parkway between 1:30-4:30 pm on Dec 3. Hurry, the deadline is fast approaching!
Now, in order to assure that the Goodfellows can fulfill what is sure to be a huge list of applicants, we are asking that you drop off any new “unwrapped” toys to The Dawghouse located at 35965 Groesbeck Hwy in Clinton Twp where we have a huge semi-trailer we are trying to fill! Then on Sunday, December 6th, we are throwing what will surely amount to one of the biggest Xmas Benefits to hit town back at The Dawghouse and hosted by WRIF’s Screamin Scott! Join us for a day long adventure of food, drinks, raffles, 30 of your favorite local artists performing acoustically and of course some pure insanity! To gain entry, all we ask is for an unwrapped new toy to be donated at the door (or $5) for each person attending, then sit back & relax, then enjoy the show! Oh, and there will be plenty of 50/50 raffles as well as door prizes given away all day long, but the real gem is a 50″ Flat Screen TV that will be raffled off, with only 500 tix sold at $10 each! I’m sure that would look nice under someone’s Christmas Tree!
